ARCURE®
Achievements
- Today, Blaxtair pedestrian detection technology is used around the world (in over fifty countries, from the Arctic Circle to the Oman Desert and from the jungles of Papua New Guinea to the giant El Teniente mine in Chile) by international industrial leaders or machine manufacturers who consider safety around machinery to be a critical issue.
- Blaxtair, recognized by a large number of national organizations responsible for occupational accident prevention, is already installed on over 20,000 machines. It is also attracting growing interest from machine manufacturers, including Jungheinrich and Liebherr, which have chosen to factory-fit the solution on some of their vehicles. (Blaxtair is factory-fitted by five manufacturers/OEMs).
- Used on major sites such as the “Grand Paris” (Greater Paris) urban construction site, the Crossrail site in London, the WestConnex mega highway network construction site in Sydney, several French nuclear power plants, the Tokyo Olympic Games construction site, SUEZ recycling centers and several Arcelor Mittal and Faurecia sites around the world, Blaxtair is setting a new standard for preventing human risk and saving lives.
\ Sydney’s WestConnex Mega Highway Network Construction Site
In July 2019, Arcure was selected by the Lendlease Samsung Bouygues Joint-Venture (LSBJV) consortium to equip the machines working on the WestConnex M4-M5 Link construction site in Sydney with Blaxtair®, the reference solution in perimeter protection around industrial vehicles. This huge project, which began at the end of 2018 and is expected to be completed in 2023, aims to build two 7.5-kilometer-long four-lane tunnels to connect the M4 and M5 freeways.
UPG, Arcure’s distribution partner in Australia for the past two years, continues to order and install Blaxtair® for this site, which has over 150 units in operation.
UPG, distribuidor de Arcure en Australia desde hace dos años, sigue encargando e instalando unidades Blaxtair® para este proyecto, que cuenta con más de 150 vehículos en funcionamiento.
\ Blaxtair Deployed at SUEZ Recycling and Recovery Centers in France
SUEZ adopted the Blaxtair solution in 2016 after conclusive trials in the Rhône-Alpes region. Since then, the system has been deployed nationwide on sites where the risk of human/machine accidents is highest.
Recognized by the network of health and safety managers at SUEZ Recycling and Recovery as one of the pillars of managing machine/pedestrian coactivity, Blaxtair has thereby become a standard in this group’s operations in France.
The system is used on excavators, loaders and telescopic handlers used for sorting and moving waste. These large vehicles, which perform many maneuvers, operate in environments where there may also be pedestrians, and Blaxtair provides the best protection for them.
The collaboration between Arcure and SUEZ was strengthened in 2020 with Blaxtair Connect, a brand-new solution that revolutionizes the management of safety around machinery: managers identify the most at-risk areas on their site and can measure the effectiveness of the prevention actions implemented.
\ Arcure and Liebherr Sign a Technology and Sales Partnership Agreement
At Bauma 2019, the international trade fair for construction and mining equipment in Munich, Liebherr, Europe’s leading construction machinery manufacturer, introduced its new active personnel detection system, an assistance system installed on the rear of the L 550 XPower® to L 586 XPower® wheel loaders.
This system increases operational safety on construction sites by actively alerting operators to dangerous situations, such as pedestrians approaching the machines. Arcure provides Liebherr with key components for this new wheel loader support system. Since then, Blaxtair has also been factory-fitted to medium-sized loaders from L 524 to L 538.
\ Strategic Partnership with Arcure for Workplace Safety at Faurecia’s Industrial Sites
In March 2019, Faurecia decided, following successful trials, to deploy the Blaxtair solution at its industrial sites to maintain its excellence in workplace safety.
The first tests of the Blaxtair smart cameras were conducted in 2017 in the UK and in Caligny in Normandy. Today, sites of the Group’s Clean Mobility and Seating operations are being equipped around the world, from China to India, Europe (all countries), America and even South Africa.
\ Blaxtair Used on the Construction Site of the New London Underground Railway Line
In England, at the Crossrail site (a cross-city railway line serving Greater London), the contractors were selected for their ability to guarantee workers’ safety. Therefore, as part of a phase of works worth £250 million (the construction of the Whitechapel and Liverpool street stations), BBMV (joint venture formed by Balfour Beatty, BeMo Tunnelling, Morgan Sindall and VINCI Construction Grands Projets) equipped some forty vehicles with a 3D Blaxtair detection camera. And even two cameras in some places to cover any blind spots to the rear or the side, thereby ensuring optimal safety conditions for workers while guaranteeing productivity and deadlines.
